What will be your legacy?

It’s not always comfortable considering what will happen after we’ve fulfilled our time here on Earth. The reality is that this world will keep on turning. Our loved ones will continue living out their own journeys as they navigate the ups and downs of life to explore, discover and realize their own successes. With that said, what will you leave behind to make their journey even more purposeful, productive and profitable? We’re all responsible for leaving behind a foundation that future generations can build upon, not only for the benefit of our loved ones but also for the benefit of human society.

When we’re entrenched in our own problems and issues, it can be difficult to consider the state of our families and our world after we’re long gone. Every place that has our footprint should be left better than it was before. Wherever our presence is being felt, the atmosphere and the people should be positively influenced. Whether it’s our home-life, workplace, relationships and brief moments of passing with strangers, our impact on others should be a favorable experience. It should be the same footprint we leave behind after our time has passed. Leaving the world in a better condition than when we first began our journey on Earth is the legacy we want to build. It doesn’t mean that we have to become famous and build a multi-million dollar business to leave a legacy behind that matters. Simply, we can make use of our God-given abilities to bring value to people that can be multiplied in ways that we may never see personally, but we know that our works will leave evidence of our gifts. And our legacy will be known among those that benefited from them. Making ourselves an asset to the world requires us to think bigger and to have a heart for helping those we’re called to serve. We want to remove any stinking thinking that may be preventing us from stepping out into deeper waters to have a greater impact on people.

God may be challenging you to promote your business or develop your skills more so you can have greater outreach. Maybe you have envisioned yourself doing something that would give you more visibility to expand your services, but it feels very uncomfortable and appears to be out of your element. If you stay focused on those you’re called to serve and not on your fears and hang-ups, you’ll be more driven to move full steam ahead to achieve your objectives.

Living a life of greatness is accomplished through investing in people, as declared in scripture. Through the service of your gifts, room will be made for you. You’ll be able to attract the resources and the relationships you need, resulting in an exponential increase in opportunities to serve even more people. Throughout the process, you’ll find yourself personally fulfilled. You'll live in abundance and the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve made your mark on the world.
