Pursuing God's purpose for your life takes patience and courage. The patience is necessary because you may be at a job you hate or maybe you're looking for ways to increase your finances, or perhaps you're ready for something bigger and better. Whatever the case, as you prepare yourself for the future you desire, your patience is required to prevent discontentment and anxiety from becoming a distraction, which could easily steer you off course.
Courage is required because the plans God has for you are typically much bigger than you ever imagined. In addition, God needs your full participation in stepping out the boat and to courageously follow through with what He's assigned you to do, despite your fears. Most people allow fear to prevent their dreams from being realized. When it comes down to pursuing your purpose, you have one of two choices. Either you'll let fear have your dreams or you'll stand up and take what God has already given you. Are you ready for what is waiting for you on the other side of fear? Continue to prepare and develop yourself, so you're ready to take action on opportunities that cross your path. Move when He says move, even when you feel afraid. Patience and courage will help pace your movement. "Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid and don't be apprehensive about it. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." —Joshua 1:9
